Automatic Transfer Switch Service & Repair

Automatic transfer switch service, diagnostics, upgrades and complete replacements, on all major brands.

Why it matters

A generator can start perfectly and the building can still go dark.

The automatic transfer switch is what moves your building from utility power to the generator when the power fails, and back again when it returns. If the switch does not work, the power from a healthy generator never reaches the building.

GenWorx has the technical expertise to service, diagnose, upgrade and completely replace an automatic transfer switch. We service all major brands, including ASCO, Thomson Technology, Cutler-Hammer, Zenith, and many others.

How it works

The switch decides when your building runs on generator power.

When the utility power fails, the switch senses it and signals the generator to start. Once the generator is up to speed, the switch moves the building’s load across to it.

When the utility power comes back and stays steady, the switch moves the load back and lets the generator run for a few minutes to cool down before it shuts off.

The switch sits and waits almost all of the time, then has to work perfectly on the one day it is needed. Contacts wear, connections work loose and controllers fail with age, so the switch needs the same care as the generator.

What we do

Six ways we look after your transfer switch

Service

Regular checks and cleaning, connections tightened, and a test transfer to prove the switch works.

Diagnostics

If the switch will not transfer, transfers at the wrong time or shows alarms, we find the real cause.

Repairs

Contact replacement, control faults and timing adjustment, on all major brands.

Upgrades

Newer controllers and parts for older switches, so they keep working the way they should.

Refurbishment

An assessment first, to see if your old switch can be brought back to good condition.

Complete replacements

When a switch is past saving, we remove it and install a new one.

02

It could save you time and money

A sound switch that is refurbished can be back in service sooner, and for less, than a brand-new one.

TSC 900 controllers

The TSC 900 controllers in TTI (Thomson Technology) switches are prone to failure. We offer affordable solutions for them.

04

Replacement when it is needed

If a switch cannot be saved, we tell you straight and handle the complete replacement.

When to call us

Three signs your transfer switch needs attention

Will not transfer

The generator runs, but the building stays dark

Will not switch back

The power is back, but the building is still on the generator

Warning signs

Alarms, buzzing, chattering or a burning smell at the switch

Common questions

Straight answers

Which brands do you work on?

All major brands, including ASCO, Thomson Technology, Cutler-Hammer, Zenith and many others.

Can my old switch be refurbished instead of replaced?

Often, yes. Contact us for an assessment first. Refurbishing could save you time and money compared with a complete replacement.

Do you work on TSC 900 controllers?

Yes. We offer affordable solutions for the failure-prone TSC 900 controllers in TTI (Thomson Technology) switches.

Should the switch be tested with the generator?

Yes. The generator and the switch work as one system. A test that only starts the generator does not prove your building will get power, so ask us to include the switch when you book.
